The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act:  - 4:00pm to 5:30pm

The U.S. Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission continue to prioritize and expand the enforcement of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, resulting in criminal prosecutions and civil investigations of U.S. corporations conducting business abroad, a fourfold increase last year in the average corporate fines and continued focus on the prosecutions of individuals.  Learn about managing fraud and corruption risks in mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures and private equity, considerations in compliance programs of the Dodd Frank Whistleblower provisions and self-reporting and, updates in FCPA enforcement.

Public Corruption - Federal & State Government Prosecutions - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Federal and state prosecutors have renewed their commitment to pursuing public corruption and government fraud investigations.  The panel will discuss recent government trends in investigating and commencing high profile public corruption prosecutions, false claims act investigations and other cases focused on government fraud.  In addition, the panel will discuss the implementation of recently enacted ethics reform laws and the impact of these reforms, as well as prosecutions focused upon corruption related to patronage, campaign activity, and non-traditional enforcement topics.
