Description:

In furtherance of the New Lawyers Section's focus on career advancement in January, this interactive discussion will explore relevant considerations and practical steps involved in transitioning from a position as an associate at a law firm to a judicial clerkship.  Increasingly, judges are seeking prospective clerks with relevant litigation experience.  Our panelists will share their personal experiences and field questions from new lawyers who may be or are seeking to transition to a clerkship after practicing as an associate.  Please bring your questions!

Our speakers will be Arivee N. Varga, an Associate at Jones Day, and Tyeesha Dixon, a current judicial law clerk. Arivee's clerkships include Honorable O. Rogeriee Thompson, U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit; and Honorable Denise J. Casper, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts.Tyeesha spent one year with Choate Hall & Stewart LLP before her current clerkship with Honorable Denise J. Casper, U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts.
