Green leasing is increasingly important as a tool to
meet new Boston energy and water reporting requirements, promote landlord-tenant
collaboration, and address climate change.
The Green Lease Forum will provide legal, commercial real estate, and local
and national policy perspectives on how to develop and implement green leases.
It will include lunch and roundtable discussions with speakers, landlords,
tenants, and leasing agents. Briefing materials will include sample lease
language, research findings and Boston-area case studies.
The Forum, jointly sponsored by the BBA, the City of
Boston, A Better City (ABC), and the D.C.-based Institute for Market
Transformation (IMT), will help efforts by the Boston Green Ribbon Commission’s
Commercial Real Estate Working Group to help reduce greenhouse gases, meet
Boston’s Climate Action Plan Goals, and the goals of reduced energy and water
that are behind the City of Boston’s new Building Energy Reporting and
Disclosure Ordinance (BERDO).
