Privacy and cybersecurity continue to exploding areas of focus in the law. These experienced Privacy Officers spend their days on the cutting edge of issues in privacy and cybersecurity, helping their companies manage data and emerging technologies in a way that builds brand and consumer trust.

Come spend the morning with this thoughtful, active group of Privacy Officers from the Boston area and beyond.  You will hear about the challenges they face and what they think about the future of privacy.  You also will learn the latest in hot topics such as the “internet of things”, emerging issues in geolocation tracking and cybersecurity, and how their companies leverage the mobile ecosystem.

Joining us for the first time at the Boston Bar Association will be Julie Brill, Commissioner, U.S. Federal Trade Commission for a featured “Conversations in Privacy” where you will hear the latest from the FTC on issues of privacy, security and the FTC’s enforcement priorities in the coming months and years.

Panel 1:
“Meet the Privacy Officers”
An open discussion with the CPOs about what they are seeing, thinking, and experiencing: What's the policy versus practical mix? Which issues are creeping up on them (e.g., do they care about internet governance)?  How do they handle tough budget cycles, is there an appropriate privacy-to-employee or privacy-to-business line ratio, and what do they think of the future of privacy?
Panel 2:
“Industry Perspectives”
An open discussion with a focus on Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences

“Conversations in Privacy”
A conversation with FTC Commissioner, Julie Brill & Heather Egan Sussman
