The New Marijuana Laws: How They Affect Public Health Policy, Personal Rights, and Law Enforcement

Monday, March 17, 2014 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

We will explore the myriad issues confronting the courts, the public, and law enforcement agencies as a result of the legalization of medical marijuana and the decriminalization of possession of less than one ounce of marijuana in the Commonwealth.  Topics for discussion will include whether and how consumers and dispensers of medical marijuana can exercise their rights under the new law without running afoul of existing federal prohibitions against possession and distribution, as well as changes in the law of arrest and search and seizure brought about by partial decriminalization of marijuana possession.
