Expecting the Unexpected: How Preparing for a Marathon Helped a City Face Tragedy

Friday, May 2, 2014 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Every year the city of Boston prepares for one of the biggest races in the world. On April 15, 2013, no amount of preparation could have prepared the City for the bombs that went off on Boylston Street. Join us on May 2nd as we hear about how marathon preparation enabled the City to respond quickly to the unexpected events of April 15th, how the ensuing manhunt and investigation affected the normal operations of the City and BIDMC, and how reaching out to the community and beyond helped those affected get the legal and medical help they needed.
