Evelyn Brody, Professor of Law, will discuss the question: can the IRS regulate charities engaged in advocacy and politics after the 501(c)(4) controversy? She will speak to the recent controversy over the Service's handling of applications for exemption for Section 501(c)(4) organizations engaged in political activity, and its impact on the Service as well as the impact on their ability to carry out oversight of tax exempt organizations.
