Bond Hearings for ICE Detainees in Massachusetts Held Under 8 U.S.C. 1226(c)

Tuesday, June 24, 2014 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Recent rulings in two immigration class actions, Gordon v. Johnson and Reid v. Donelan, give approximately 100 ICE detainees held in Massachusetts under 8 U.S.C. 1226(c) who were previously ineligible for bond hearings an opportunity to request bond from an Immigration Judge.  This workshop will help lawyers, advocates, and allies to provide representation and assistance to Gordon and Reid class members in their upcoming bond hearings.  The workshop will include information on the Gordon and Reid cases and an overview of bond proceedings in Immigration Court.
