Young Bar Meets Bankruptcy Bench

Wednesday, February 24, 2016 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

This is the 9th annual Young Bar Meets the Bankruptcy Bench event.  The program introduces new bar members to the judges for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Court Clerk, James Lynch.  The program will begin with a breakout session, in which the judges will discuss a hypothetical question on ethics and the use of “Social Media” with program attendees.  Thereafter, there will be a question and answer session with the judges and Clerk of Court, James Lynch, which will provide practical insight into how the Court operates.

After this seminar, attendees will have discussed ethical issues associated with the use of “Social Media,” learned how the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts operates, and will have gained practical skills and tips for their first years of practice including: (1) oral presentations and appearing in court; (2) written submissions; and (3) the state of bankruptcy practice in the District.

This program will run from 4:30pm - 6:30pm and will be followed by a networking reception.
