Friday, April 21, 2017 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

"Friday Fundamentals" is the BBA’s weekly educational series designed to offer an introduction to the basic legal skills and fundamental knowledge lawyers need to get a foothold and grow in their understanding of a given area of practice. Did you even know there were lawyers who focus exclusively on US immigration and nationality law? Have you ever wondered what such an attorney actually does? Our esteemed panelists will answer those questions and many more.  They will dispel rumors and provide an overview of the various types of cases which immigration lawyers handle.   They will also discuss life working in various settings, including large firms, small firms, and non-profits, as well as, compare and contrast what it is like to work in firms that focus on employment immigration versus ones that focus on family/removal work.  In addition, the panelists will discuss the intersection of immigration law with family, employment and other areas of law.  The panelists will also provide tips and practice pointers for those thinking of entering the field of immigration or those who have newly begun working in this very exciting field.  The program will also end with a Q&A.
