Pro Bono Training: Landlord Tenant Law Basics

Monday, November 14, 2016 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

This training will cover the basics of summary process law in landlord / tenant cases and how to represent both landlords and tenants in a summary process eviction matter.

Both landlords and tenants need representation in Housing Court. These cases can be a part of a pro bono project or cases on which to build a practice. This training will guide you through the trial of a case in Housing Court from opening to closing, with a special focus on evidence rules as they pertain to summary process / eviction cases. After this training, you will be able to volunteer to assist with the Lawyer for the Day in the Boston Housing Court program.

Law students are welcome to attend, but only 3:03 certified law students can volunteer for the Lawyer for the Day Program.
