The Criminal Justice System in Massachusetts: Challenges and Opportunities for Reform

Description:

This program will provide a discussion of the genesis, purpose and scope of the work of:

  1. The Council of State Governments Justice Center - Massachusetts Criminal Justice Review and recently issued report, and
  2. The Massachusetts Sentencing Commission, in their respective studies of issues involving criminal justice and criminal justice reform in the Commonwealth.

After this seminar, attendees will have an understanding of the many challenges currently facing the Massachusetts criminal justice system and the concomitant attempts at reforming and improving the administration of criminal justice in the Commonwealth, as well as their prospects for enactment and the form that any statutory changes may take.

Following the program, attendees are invited to join us for a networking reception.
