Understanding the Newly Revised Massachusetts Determination of Need Regulations

Wednesday, March 29, 2017 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

January 27, 2017 marked the effective date of the first major substantive revision of the Commonwealth’s Determination of Need regulations in 45 years.  The new regulations were designed to, and have resulted in, a simpler, more modern, more transparent DON process, and a process that aligns better with the regulations and processes of other State agencies.  In addition, the regulatory changes will refocus DON-related community health initiative projects and revamp DPH oversight of DON-required equipment and services, among other things.  This brown bag program will review and explain the key changes in the revised regulations, as well as new and planned sub-regulatory guidelines relating to the DON process.

After this seminar, attendees will know how the Determination of Need regulations changed and why, and what the changes mean for health care providers, planners, and consumers who will be contemplating health care facility capital and services projects in the future.
