A Conversation about Water Conservation

Thursday, January 18, 2018 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Join us to hear about the work being done by MassDEP on water conservation strategies in two pilot basins: the Ipswich and the Parker Watersheds.  This ongoing pilot project will evaluate and measure the effectiveness of demand management and conservation standards and inventory below threshold water withdrawals in these two basins.  In addition an outreach campaign related to outdoor water use is being developed for public distribution.   As background, the speakers will summarize the proceedings related to a petition filed in accordance with M.G.L. c30A, section 4 to amend the agency’s regulations, and the agency’s decision to pursue the Ipswich and Parker River pilot project to evaluate the potential of different conservation strategies in more detail.
