In For One, In For All, Except . . .: Recent Developments in Mass. Coverage Law

Tuesday, December 12, 2017 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Experienced insurance coverage practitioners will acquaint attendees with recent Massachusetts case law on two key issues: the insurability of punitive damages awards and whether the duty to defend extends to the policyholder’s affirmative counterclaims. The discussion will focus primarily upon the Superior Court’s recent decision in Williamson-Green v. Interstate Fire (BLS May 26, 2017) and the SJC’s opinion in Mt. Vernon Fire Ins. Co. v. VisionAid. We hope that this event will take the form of a roundtable, and that attendees will bring their experiences litigating these issues to the discussion.
