Divorce Law Fundamentals: The Initial Divorce Filing- Complaint v. Joint Petition and Motion Practice

Description:

This session will focus on the initial divorce filing and motion practice. The discussion will include how to complete a Complaint for Divorce or a Joint Petition, the difference between each process and the time line for each process, as well as what forms must accompany each filing. Discussion will also include Supplemental Probate Court Rule 411 . In the Motion practice segment, you will learn when and how to file a Motion for Temporary Orders, what should be included, when the Motion should be supported by an affidavit and when to request an evidentiary hearing.
