CLE - The 2017 AIA Contract Documents - Negotiating the A102, A201, and the Insurance Exhibit

Thursday, December 7, 2017 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

The 2017 AIA A102 and A201 - From the Basics to the New Revisions:
When an owner hires a contractor to work on a construction project, the contract documents presented will likely be based the American Institute of Architects’ standard form documents. This portion of the CLE program discusses key issues and modifications to be considered in negotiating these agreements from both the owner’s and the contractor’s perspective, as well as the impacts of the AIA’s 2017 amendments to their standard forms.

The New Insurance and Bonds Exhibit:
The new AIA Insurance and Bonds Exhibit provides contracting parties greater flexibility to address constantly evolving insurance products, markets, and coverage issues.  During this portion of the Program, the panelists will review the new exhibit and share practical information that lawyers, their clients, risk managers, and insurance brokers/advisors need to know when negotiating insurance requirements. The panelists will share their keen insight into addressing common misconceptions about coverage and avoiding the inadvertent use of commercially impractical insurance requirements in project and loan documents.

Following the program, attendees are invited to join us for a reception.
