Career Path Panel: Mapping Out Your Future

Friday, January 26, 2018 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Wondering if 2018 is the right time for you to make a career transition?

There are many paths to career success and happiness in the law. Some lawyers leave law school, join a law firm and work their way up to partnership. But in 2018, that only represents a small portion of the bar. Given the changing nature of the practice of law and the mobility of today’s workforce, the odds are good that you will make at least one lateral move within the first 10 years in practice.

What is your next step? How do you decide if you are going to stay put and work your way towards partner? And if you don’t think partnership is what you want -- or if you are unsure -- what are your other options? Attend this program to learn from attorneys with a range of career trajectories what they discovered along the way as they transitioned from a large to a mid-sized firm; from a boutique firm to an in-house legal department; from government to big law; and more.

The panel will be moderated by Stephen Seckler of Marc Z Legal Staffing and Seckler Legal Recruiting & Coaching.
