Webinar:Computer Forensics on a Budget

Wednesday, June 13, 2018 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
- , Boston, MA

Description:

Computer forensics is a specialized subset of ediscovery. It focuses on the conduct -- or misconduct -- of the computer user:

  • Did the user attempt to delete electronic files? Can the files be recovered?
  • Are these files authentic? Have they been altered or fabricated?
  • Who created these files and when were they created?
  • Were the files stolen, transmitted, copied, or printed?
  • What web sites did the user visit? What searches did the user run?
  • What applications did the user install? When were they used?
  • Where was this cell phone used? What texts or calls did the user make?

Unlike traditional ediscovery, these questions are not answered by reviewing the normal user files found on a computer or cell phone. Instead, they involve looking for technical clues in the digital environment in which the actions occurred.

In this webinar, we will cover the fundamentals of computer forensics. We will identify the primary sources of digital forensic evidence and describe the "low hanging fruit" that can often be harvested with relatively minimal time and cost.

Presented by James Berriman,Esq.,Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Evidox.
