Friday, March 29, 2019 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Labor and Employment's Friday Fundamental on the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination will cover the following:

  • The MCAD’s jurisdiction
  • What to expect - filing, investigation, probable cause, conciliation, discovery, and public hearing
  • Available remedies
  • When does early mediation make sense?
  • Considerations when representing an individual complainant, an employer respondent, or an individual respondent
  • Stay or go? When does staying at the MCAD make sense, instead of withdrawing and filing in court?

"Friday Fundamentals” is the BBA’s weekly educational series designed to offer an introduction to the basic legal skills and fundamental knowledge lawyers need to get a foothold and grow in their understanding of a given area of practice. Click here to view a full list of the BBA’s upcoming Fundamentals programs.
