On to the Next: Demystifying Career Transitions as a Diverse Attorney in Boston

Monday, March 4, 2019 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Before you can register to attend this event, you must log into the Boston Bar web site.

Description:

This program will shed light on the difficult (and often obscure) process of leaving your first, second, or even fifth job as a lawyer and transitioning into the next stage.  The panel discussion will feature a group of prominent and diverse lawyers who are enthusiastic about sharing their experiences transitioning from or into big law firms, legal aid organizations, in-house departments, government agencies, academia, policy work, and public office.

Attendees will leave with answers to the following questions:  When is the right time to start thinking about a transition?  What is the job search process like for mid-level and senior attorneys?  How do you leverage skills gained at your current job in preparing an application and negotiating pay?  You've started the new job; how do you hit the ground running?

The program will be followed by a networking reception.
