Description:

Practicing in front of the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board can be an unfamiliar and daunting task. This program aims to give attendees an insider perspective and to demystify that process. A panel of experts from the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board, the Department of Revenue, and the Bar Association will present guidance and insight surrounding best practices for going before the Board. The program will focus primarily on petitions related to income tax.

Attendees are requested to commit to taking a case pro bono through one of the following programs: Greater Boston Legal Services' Low-Income Tax Clinic; the Federal Tax Clinic at the Legal Services Center at Harvard Law School; or Partners for Community Action's Low Income Taxpayer Clinic in Springfield.
