Wednesday, October 2, 2019 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

Please join the BBA's new Privacy, Cybersecurity & Digital Law Section for their kick-off event. They'll welcome Michelle K. Tassinari from the Elections Division of the Office of the Massachusetts Secretary of State. There, Michelle is the Director and Legal Counsel.

Michelle will give an overview of the election cyber threats and defenses, as well as efforts in Massachusetts and at the national level, including federal resources. She has extensive experience in the precautions and activities undertaken by the Secretary of State, and is knowledgeable about those at the national level, including other states and the Dept. of Homeland Security. She will also describe the Defending Digital Democracy Program (DP3) program at the Kennedy School, where she helped edit the D3P materials including “The State and Local Election Cybersecurity Playbook” and how states are adapting that information for their own use.

Mark Schreiber of McDermott, Will & Emery, LLP will provide opening remarks and welcome Michelle to the BBA. Her remarks will be followed by a networking reception.

This program is free and open to all.
