Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Does a job researching stem cell laws sound interesting to you? How about implementing President Obama's federal health care reform law? Advocating on behalf of adults and children who cannot access health care? Defending a doctor charged with malpractice? Representing a hospital or doctor in contract negotiations with insurance companies or vice versa? It's all in a day’s work for these health care attorneys!

Health law is one of the fastest growing areas of law and within the field there are a myriad of career paths for attorneys. If you would like to learn more about a career in health law, please join us at this Health Law Career Panel.

The program will feature two panels of successful attorneys in various stages of their careers and who are practicing in a variety of settings including: government, policy, academia, law firm, hospital, insurance company, and nonprofit. Panelists will discuss how they obtained their positions, what their jobs entail, and tips on how to get into their particular area of health law. Each panel will last approximately one hour. Following the program, there will be a reception with wine, beer, and hors d’oeuvres where you will have an opportunity for informal discussions with the panelists as well as a chance to network with other attorneys who practice in health law.
