Massachusetts Bar Exam Rule Change for Foreign Lawyers

Tuesday, January 18, 2011 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

On July 1 2010, the Supreme Judicial Court approved rule changes to allow for lawyers who are educationally trained from foreign countries to sit the Massachusetts Bar Exam. Our panel discussion will discuss these rule changes and how they immediately affect the many foreign lawyers in the Boston area. This will be an invaluable experience to hear from the actual people who have spearheaded the rule change initiative, including Gail Hupper, Boston College Law, Christine Burak, Supreme Judicial Court Rules Committee, James C. Stokes, Bingham McCutchen, and Mela Lew, Massachusetts Board of Bar Examiners. There will also be mention of the BBA’s proposed LL.M career fair informational which is tentatively planned for later in the year.
