United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts and the Boston
Bar Association sponsor a financial literacy education program for high school
students. The program consists of
four modules led by volunteer lawyers and U.S. Bankruptcy Judges.
The modules include: Personal Finance and Budgeting,
Using Credit and Credit Cards, Financing a Car, and Consequences. Sessions will be conducted on-campus at
high schools in March through early April 2011, except for the final session on
Consequences which involves a field trip to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.
are encouraged to teach in pairs and asked to teach one module to a
class. The total commitment including preparation, travel and
classroom time is no more than 5 hours.
