Employee Risk to Trademark Value: Being a Better Gatekeeper
Friday, May 6, 2011
12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA
So you've searched, cleared and registered a brand
new catchy logo and name for your company or your client. There's nothing else
to be done to protect these trademark rights, right? Wrong! Along with
owning a trademark comes the obligation to ensure that it is properly used –
including by a company's own employees. Employee use and misuse of brands
can present the single greatest risk to diminishing the value of corporate
brands. Speaker Renee Inomata, Burns
& Levinson, will help identify the gaping gateways created by
employees and suggest ways that in-house and outside counsel can help companies
be better gatekeepers to preserve trademark value.
