Comparative Effectiveness

Tuesday, November 29, 2011 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

The Federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act instituted provisions related to comparative effectiveness research.  Comparative effectiveness research, also known as patient-centered outcomes research, may have significant impact on a sweeping range of constituencies - from providers, payers, industry, and regulators - to patients and their advocates.  Comparative effectiveness research is designed to inform health-care decisions by providing evidence on the effectiveness, benefits, and harms of different treatment options. The evidence is generated from research studies that compare drugs, medical devices, tests, surgeries, or ways to deliver health care.  The program speakers will provide an overview of activities at the federal and state level related to CER and how it may impact your clients and businesses.
