Wednesday, January 11, 2012 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Boston Bar Association - 16 Beacon Street, Boston, MA

Description:

The M. Ellen Carpenter Financial Literacy Program is a collaboration between the BBA and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Massachusetts.  The aim of the Program is to educate high school juniors and seniors on the rewards and importance of making smart financial decisions.  Volunteers teach classes on topics that include personal finance, budgeting and using credit.   Next year will mark the eighth year of the Program.  To date, the Program has reached over 1750 students throughout the state with the assistance of 400 volunteers.

We expect to begin the Program in late January with opportunities for volunteer throughout the state.  A training will be held on January 11, 2012 at 4:00 p.m.  All new volunteers are encouraged to attend this training.  A reception for all past and new volunteers will follow.
